Salvage Operations picks up the items scheduled for disposal at a labor cost of $14.00 per quarter hour (per each staff member assigned to the job). There is a $4.00 per item disposal fee for covered electronic devices (CEDs). These devices include:
computers (desktop and laptop)
monitors
printers
scanners
fax machines
copiers
LCD projectors
telephones/cell phones
peripheral drives
personal data assistants (PDAs)
digital oscilloscopes,
voltmeters/ammeters
The $4.00 fee covers the additional handling and labor costs involved in recycling these items. Small items such as PDAs and keyboards are combined into (roughly) 15 pound increments for the $4 CED charge.
