About Us

Our Sustainability Efforts

The Bargain Barn is a significant part of the university's commitment to zero waste by 2020.

  • 8,000 university items diverted from landfills and sold annually
    • 80% sold to the general public
    • 20% sold to campus departments
  • 97 tons of Covered Electronic Devices(CEDs) recycled annually
  • Unmarketable items donated to non-profit organizations and schools
  • Reduce carbon foot print by having a single driver pick up and deliver throughout campus
  • Recycling site for UPS batteries
  • Drop-off site for mixed storage media recycling (CDs, video tapes, etc.)
